Creating a team on TennisLink

Note: Before Using TennisLink – Read the following important requirements:

  • You must have a USTA membership valid through the current league season and have the USTA number ready to enter into the Tennislink registration system.

  • You must create a USTA account and sign into account. Under “manage account” update contact information.  Only captains and coordinators will see this information.

  • You must have an approved credit card ready for payment of your registration fees (VISA, MasterCard, American Express).

1.Log into TennisLink Leagues Homepage

2.Under My Quick Links, click Online Team Creation

3.Select Section, District/Area, League and Flight from drop downs.

Note: If you do not see the Section, District, League or Flight in which to create a team then team registration has not begun or has closed. See dates for team registration on www.batonrougetennis.com.

4.Enter Team Name

5. IMPORTANT!! NEW FOR 2021 Under Team Registration, select Open or Closed

Captains will have three options when registering a team:

1. OPEN - Any player who meets the level criteria can register directly onto this team.

  • Captains will be notified via email when a player has registered for their team.

  • Anyone can register on a team that is open.

  • No limit on # of players who can register on an open team, till it is closed.

  • Captains have to contact their Local League Coordinator to change team from open to closed.

  • PRIVATE FACILITIES MUST BE CLOSED TEAMS.

  • NOT SUGGESTED FOR ANY TEAMS AT THIS TIME.

2. CLOSED - Traditional USTA team type, players must be provided with a team number by captain/coordinator in order to register for the team.

3. **CLOSED BUT SEEKING ADDITIONAL PLAYERS** - Traditional USTA team type, players must be provided with a team number by captain/coordinator in order to register for the team. Captains can receive email notifications from players who are seeking teams that match their team criteria (NTRP level, gender and age).

SELECTING TYPE OF TEAM:

OPEN team: HIGHLY DISCOURAGED

  • Check OPEN box

  • Input Open team captains notes in box.

  • To close team to additional players you must contact your local league coordinator.

CLOSED team:

  • Check Closed box.

  1. All private clubs must check closed box.

CLOSED BUT SEEKING ADDITIONAL PLAYERS:

  • Check Closed box.

  • Check “Receive Notice of Unassigned Player” box.

Note: If Receive Notice of Unassigned Player box is checked, captains will receive email notifications from players who are seeking teams that match their team criteria (NTRP level, gender and age).

 6. Select Home Courts from facility drop down

a.From Drop Down Box – Click on your facility’s name and proceed to step 11.

b.FACILITY NOT IN DROP DOWN BOX – click “Other Facility” button next to the drop down box.

c.The “Facility Locator” screen will open. 

d.Enter your facility name.

e.Enter State – Louisiana

f. In the “Match Facilities” box click on the facility.

g. Scroll down and click select.

h.You will be taken back to the “Online team Creation” page.

 7. Click Create Team

Note: When you choose the Create Team button, you will be taken to the registration page where a team number and your USTA # will appear. This team number is valid ONLY if you pay for at least one registration. The valid team number will be displayed again upon completion of the registration. If you choose not to proceed with the registration, the team information will be lost. 

WHERE TO FIND INFORMATION ON TENNISLINK

  • Sign into TennisLink. Once signed in you will see “Welcome (your name)”.

  • Scroll 1/3 way down homepage to “My Teams”.

  • This should list the teams that you are registered on. If team is not listed in “My Teams” enter team number in the Stats and Standings Box and click search. Click “add to my teams”.

  • Click on team that you would like to get information.

Note: If you are not listed as a captain you will not be able to access phone numbers of your team members or other captains in your sub-flight. 

Team Summary Tab:

  • Team Standings for level/flight

  • Summary of team matches

    • For completed matches – click on “date” to view completed scorecards

    • For future matches – click on “date” to print scorecard.

  • Players registered on team

Match Summary Tab:

  • Displays summary of scheduled matches (once matches are published by League Coordinator)

  • Can click on match # to enter or confirm/dispute scores

  • For completed matches – click on match id to view completed scorecard.

  • For future matches – click on match id to print scorecard.

Match Schedules Tab:

  • Displays date, time, location, captain’s phone number of your regular season schedule. Phone numbers will only be displayed if you have logged in with captain’s access.

  • For completed matches – click on match id to view completed scorecard.

  • For future matches – click on match ID to print scorecard.

  • Can click on match number to enter or confirm/dispute scores.

Player Roster Tab:

  • Displays team roster information including team members’ contact information.

Captains Report Tab

(only captains/co-captains have access):

  • Displays Captains phone and email information for captains in at your level/flight.

How to Report Scores:

  1. Go to TennisLink - TennisLink.

  2. Sign into TennisLink. Once signed in, you will see “Welcome (your name)”.

  3. Scroll down to "My Teams".

  4. Click on team you wish to enter scores.

  5. Scroll down to list of team matches.

  6. Click on match number.

  7. Enter the date the match was played. If there are makeup matches, use date of the last court played.

  8. Select players, enter scores with winners scores entered first. Change the match status if necessary from completed to retired, default or double default.

  9. Scoring Retirement – Scores are recorded as played. I.e. 6-3, 0-3. Select “Retirement” in the drop down box and select the winner.

  10. Scoring Default – Enter winning team’s players' names, select them as winners and select “Default” from the drop down box. No scores are entered.

  11. Scoring Double Default – Select “Double Default” from the drop down box. Do not enter names or scores.

  12. Click “Confirm” if accurate, click “dispute” if not accurate. ** If match is disputed or incorrect scores entered, contact your local league coordinator and opposing captain to make correction.

  13. Click “Finish”.

How to Confirm Reported Scores:

  1. Go to TennisLink - TennisLink .

  2. Sign into TennisLink. Once signed in, you will see “Welcome (your name)”.

  3. Scorll down to "My Teams"

  4. Click on team you wish to enter scores.

  5. Scroll down to list of team matches.

  6. Click on match number.

  7. Review Scores and at the bottom of page click “Confirm” or “Dispute”.

  8. If scores are disputed, you must notify your local league coordinator.
